Is There A “Perfect” Age for Hip or Knee Replacement? . The average age for knee and #hipreplacement (US) is 63-65 yrs old (and continues to trend younger). The primary goals of Hip and #KneeReplacement are to decrease pain and improve joint function. For many patients, factors that influence “when” include failure of conservative therapy to provide relief, pain/function limiting daily activity, symptoms interfering with regular sleep and overall quality of life. .
