Watch this 1st-place video from the 2024 YO Video Competition. Dr. Mohammad Dahrouj shows how he repositioned a single-piece intraocular lens (IOL) that had moved significantly backwards into the vitreous cavity of the eye. The patient had a previous retinal detachment in the right eye. Dr. Dahrouj used a light pipe helped to stabilize the IOL and the vitrector to create a small opening in the bag at the optic-haptic junction. He then used a single 6-0 Prolene suture to rescue and reposition the IOL.
