@thepedsdoctalkpodcast is officially a @signalawards winner! You all showed up and voted for The Listener's Choice award and we won! BUT, the judges also rated our show and gave it a 🏅 gold award for quality, editing, topic variety, and execution. I am beyond grateful. This is a passion project of mine. One that really doesn't monetize as well as other platforms. I don't have the backing of a big podcast network or the connections to get high profile guests, but I believe so strongly in elevating voices of diverse people no matter how big their audience. There were many times where I've questioned if I wanted to continue @pedsdoctalk on social media. That's the behind the scenes you don't always see from creators. But, I never once questioned continuing the podcast. Even when metrics were low, I kept going because I simply loved the art. I love spoken word, I love connecting, I love absorbing knowledge from my guests, and reading how the show has helped you. What's so wild is that I have plans for The PedsDocTalk Podcast 2.0. I have a couple big announcements that would have happened even without this award, but I would be lying if I said these awards don't make those upcoming announcements a whole lot sweeter. Thanks to @g.pat_l for helping me start this show. A passion project postpartum after a traumatic birth. He looked up how to start a podcast, bought me my equipment, and taught me how to edit. I edited this show by myself for years before I was able to outsource that process. A huge thanks to The PedsDocTalk Team-Kathryn, Halie, Chelsea, and Grace. Grace joined as my podcast and youtube manager and editor in 2024 and I'm forever grateful I took the jump to hire someone internally to make my vision for this show come to life. And of course, thank you to all of you. Not only for voting when I asked (or begged ha) BUT for all your downloads, saves, shares
