đHalloween eye safety tips!đ 1ď¸âŁ Colored eye drops - Iâve talked about this before. You want to buy drops from a reputable vendor. Most of these creators are using blood eye drops, and there are a few popular manufacturers of these - and none of them are FDA approved for use in the eye. I couldnât even find an ingredient list when i went o n their websites 2ď¸âŁ Buying contact lenses without a valid prescription. From either an beauty supply store, an online retailer or a costume store (or heck, i remember when i lived in NYC people would just be selling them on the streets of the Parade) Contacts require a prescription which states the power (even if itâs 0), the brand, the base curve and itâs illegal to be able to buy them without it And this is why Contacts have to be measured to fit on your eye. An improper fit can lead to a scratch on your cornea, or even infections like ulcer. This is why your eye doctor will train you how to insert and remove your contact lens properly. The worst case I saw a girl who got a corneal ulcer and needed a corneal transplant after wearing an Halloween contact lens that wasnât prescribed. Some of these videos also show people getting really red irritated eyes after putting contacts in their eyes for the first time. Iâm not sure if they were properly trained of if the contact is causing redness because itâs not the right fit, in either case, you donât want this to happen to you 3ď¸âŁTightlining or putting eyeliner on your waterline - this is a big no for a lot of reasons. Listen I love the look too, but when you do this you are clogging the oil glands that make tears and this can cause inflammation or even infections, leading to dry eyes and styes. Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!
