There are always going to be those people who say âyou canât,â âyou wonât ever,â or âyou shouldnât.â
Â
I was told these things when I decided that I wanted to become a doctor. I was told that I wasnât smart enough or capable enough. That it was a âmanâs job.â That it would interfere with marriage and motherhood.
Â
Guess whatâŚI didnât listen. Not to any of them.
Â
And todayâŚI am here because I was smart and capable enough. I gave myself a seat at the âmenâs tableâ. And I wouldnât have it any other way!
I love being an ophthalmologist and I love my familyâIâm blessed to have a supportive husband and to be called a mama by three little ones đĽ°. I knew I could have both and so can anyone else.
Â
Believe in yourself. Believe in your potential. Believe in who you know you can one day become. Above all else, trust your own voice over the negative comments of those who doubt you. â¨
