Testosterone is not bad…until it is! When can testosterone be supplemented safely?? Only when levels are low AND a patient has symptoms. Only them is supplementation considered to be safe (no significant elevated risk in heart attack or stroke). Regardless, risk of arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation) and pulmonary embolism (blood clots in lung) still exist. When levels are supplemented to very high levels or a patient is supplemented inappropriately (with normal levels or no symptoms), then the risk of heart attack and stroke are still present. Take home point- testosterone supplementation for “gains” is bad news, otherwise can be safe and effective. Are sure you are seeing a board-certified physician…not someone who makes money off of supplements and injections! #cardiology #endocrine #testosterone #queenofhearts #endocrinology #newstudy #preventivehealth #menshealth #clinicaltrials #themoreyouknow #gains #heartdisease #heartattack #stroke
