What's Lp(a)? It is a very atherogenic, or "sticky" type of cholesterol particle. It is genetically driven and diet and exercise do not generally change the values much at all. Patients who have high Lp(a) values are statistically at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease in their life. If you do not already have heart disease, ask your primary care provider or cardiologist to check this on you at least once in your lifetime. #lipidology #cholesterol #cardiology #cardiologist #conciergemedicine #preventivemedicine
