Not eating before surgery is crucial for your safety.

Not eating before surgery is crucial for your safety. Under general anesthesia, your body’s natural cough and gag reflexes are suppressed, which means that any food or liquid in your stomach could be regurgitated and accidentally inhaled into your lungs—a serious risk called aspiration pneumonia. This complication can lead to SK breathing difficulties, prolonged recovery times, and may even be life threatening. Always follow your doctor’s fasting guidelines to minimize these risks and ensure a smooth, safe surgical experience! 📸 @thedrjoe ⚠️All rights® are reserved & belong to the photo/video owner.
