Here’s a novel technique for sealing a conjunctival wound after an excisional biopsy. Ophthalmologist Christopher Sales, MD, traces a template for the amniotic membrane graft onto plastic and then transfers it to the AMG sheet. Cryotherapy is applied along the cut edge of the conjunctiva, using a thin piece of instrument wipe to elevate the conjunctival margin and a Weck-cel sponge for support. After the AMG is placed, the conjunctival edges are drawn over, and everything is sealed with fibrin glue.
