The roots of your teeth are the foundation that anchors your teeth to your jawbone. Each tooth has at least one root, but some teeth have multiple roots. The outermost layer of a tooth is called the enamel, which protects the tooth from damage. Below the enamel is the dentin, a hard tissue that supports the enamel. Underneath the dentin lies the pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels that keep the tooth healthy. The cementum is a layer of hard tissue that covers the outside of the root and helps to anchor the tooth to the jawbone. Inside the cementum lies the periodontal ligament, which is a group of fibers that attach the cementum to the jawbone. Small openings in the cementum called dentinal tubules, allow nutrients to be absorbed by the root. #shorts #3danimation #animation #dental #dentist #oralhealth #teeth
