Stitch with: @brookeeewoods Dealing with toddler hitting can be tough, but these tips can help! ✨ 1. Stay Calm: Take a deep breath and model calm behavior. Avoid reacting with anger; your child is testing boundaries. 🌬️ 2. Don’t give a big reaction or react at all. If you give it attention; they will do it more. 3. Set Clear Limits: If they are hitting, it’s okay to say “If you hit, I will need to put you down” and calmly follow through. 4. Show them the preferred behavior: Show them how to be gentle by guiding their hands and saying, “We use gentle hands.” 🤲💕 5. Praise Positive Behavior: When your toddler is using gentle hands or showing them what is preferred behavior, give them praise! Say, “Great job! Yesss gentle touch. Thank you.” 6. Redirect the Behavior: Offer alternatives like building with blocks or squeezing a pillow when they seem bored or overstimulated. 🧱😌 Want more tips on navigating toddler behavior?
