Pediatricians go through extensive training to be able to diagnose and treat many chronic conditions, common infectious diseases, behavioral issues, growth and development concerns, injuries, and more👩🏽‍⚕️. It’s crucial to find a pediatrician you trust, as they will be the point person to guide you through your child’s growth, development, and health. Unfortunately, some voices on social media have fostered distrust in pediatricians, spreading misinformation that undermines their credibility. This skepticism does a disservice to children and families, as pediatricians are trained to be advocates for their patients. Pediatricians are not experts at everything, but many take on certain areas of interests. And a good Pediatrician will know when to escalate care or refer out to someone else who has more niched expertise. To dispel some of this misinformation, I invited Krupa Playforth from @thepediatricianmom on the PedsDocTalk Podcast 🎙this week. She’s a board-certified pediatrician and mom passionate about sharing evidence-based, realistic, parenting info. In the episode, we discuss misconceptions about pediatricians, especially on social media, and review what pediatricians really know from their training about specific topics like lactation, car seat education, sleep, and nutrition. To give it a listen and get a link to the episode sent directly to your DMs, comment or DM me “PODCAST LINK”. To thank our podcast community and how you continue to spread the word about our show, we will be hosting weekly giveaways.🌟 This week we’re giving away the following: 1.
