🙅♀️Just say no to keto! Recent studies just released at the ACC (American College of Cardiology) conference revealed that a low-carb high-fat diet (like ‘keto’) is linked to increased LDL (bad cholesterol) and a two-fold increased risk of cardiovascular events (mainly atherosclerotic coronary disease). This along with other research is continuing to reveal that high cholesterol increases the risk of cardiovascular disease…substantially! This isn’t ‘new’ data…but the lower the LDL, the lower the likelihood of heart disease. Why is this important?! Because heart disease is the NUMBER 1 killer of men and women in the country. So- eat like your heart depends on it! Check out my stories daily where I occasionally post healthy food ideas and easy items to switch out for healthier choices 💪🏼. 🥦 Remember, you are what you eat! 🐠 #queenofhearts #cardiology #cardiologist #lipids #cholesterol #heartdisease #hearthealth #hearthealthy #medicine #diet #keto #lowcarb #youarewhatyoueat #healthyeating #preventivemedicine
