It’s not just about the medicine, the knowledge and the skill…patients want to like you. They want to be able to talk freely with you. They want to feel welcomed and unrushed. Basically, they want a friendly relationship. It’s not that hard! Treat your patients the way you would treat and talk to your friends or family (assuming you have friends and you like your family)…watch your satisfaction scores improve! Tips: 👍🏼 Find common ground 👍🏼Notice little things and comment on them 👍🏼READ THE ROOM! Realize the “temperature” of the mood you are dealing with 👍🏼Use first names whenever possible “Ms. Kathy, Mr. Alex” 👍🏼Always always introduce yourself and what you do 👍🏼Speak in non medical terms for non-medical patients 👍🏼Some patients require more time, some don’t. Figure this out early. Never rush through a serious conversation. 👍🏼Be a human…have empathy….care #patientsafety #patientsatisfaction #goals #doctoring #behuman #empathy #doctor #physician #medicalschool #residency #cardiologist #cardiology #internship #medicine
