Even kindergarteners are using tablets and computers in school for learning (we’ll debate that in separate post), but in the meantime this one simple rule can help prevent eye strain and eye fatigue.
20-20-20 Rule.
Teach your kids to take breaks from their devices every 20 minutes, choosing a target 20 feet away and looking at it for 20 seconds.
This relaxes accommodation (focusing) and can minimize eye strain and fatigue. It’s an easy habit to teach kids before they start learning on devices.
This is actually great for adults too.
Thank you to my middle son for being my actor for this! Questions?
