Bankart Lesions of the Shoulder is a tear in the anterior and inferior labrum of the shoulder, often result from traumatic shoulder dislocations. They are especially common in athletes and younger individuals. Anterior shoulder dislocations account for about 97% of all shoulder dislocations. Studies show recurrence rates can be as high as 51% among contact athletes under 18, compared to 12% in older players.
