I know, it sometimes doesn’t seem to make sense. But it’s true, excess tearing can be, at its core, a symptom of dry eye disease.
It has to do with the composition of our tears. In dry eye disease, our tear film can be inadequate and unstable, causing the tears to evaporate way too quickly. In response, your eyes try to make more watery tears to compensate… and round and round we go 🔁
