A #tortoise can make a great pet if you live in the right climate. Dodo here resides in Southern California which has a climate similar enough to regions her species is native to - Sub Saharan Africa. That being said - don’t get a Sulcata tortoise like Dodo. They get too big and too destructive for most people’s preferences. I would instead recommend a California desert tortoise or a Russian tortoise or Greek tortoise. ✳️ALSO✳️ Did you know there are reptile rescues all over the country⁉️ Many major cities have them and I highly encourage future reptile pet parents to explore that option.
